Fuengirola Beaches – what makes it so special and so popular? over 8km of them!!

December 4, 2013 By Andalucia Travel Guide

Visit Fuengirola beaches for your next holiday in the sun!

You have just decided you want to go on vacation somewhere in Europe, to take a great bite of sun, sand and sea, but you don’t know which sunny destination to choose?

Head on for Fuengirola in Andalucia, as it might be right what you’re looking for! South of Costa del Sol, the sunny town of Fuengirola is a magnificent place, with all the facilities you need: hotels, restaurants, clubs, bars, shopping centers, golf course, riding center, but what makes it so special and so popular are its more than 8km of sandy beaches.

The beaches are divided into five districts, so you have a variety of things you can do except swimming and staying in the sun.

Playa de Fuengirola in situated near the harbour, so you can watch the fishing ships, and since the locals are very friendly, you can even join them in their activity.

Torreblanca beach is a very modern and secure one; you have a surveillance tour and lifeguards are present all the time so you can try your hand at windsurf, scuba diving, and water skiing being sure your back is watched.

Santa Maria, Carvajal and Los Boliches and the other beaches in Fuengirola, with thick golden sand where you can watch the waves and work on your tan, while settled comfortably in your lounge chair with a cocktail in your hand.

An interesting thing you need to know about these beaches is that if you talk to the locals, they can show you some very isolated parts of the beach where you can enjoy the sound of the waves and if you search very carefully you can even find some very beautiful shells, which in other parts of Spain are quite expensive.

Also the restaurants serve different fish dishes, and you can even point your meal, as all the restaurants display a huge aquarium in the floor, with fresh fish; so while you enjoy your meal you can also watch the fishes below you.

Whether you search for peace and tranquility, music and entertainment, sports and luxury, you can find them all together along Fuengirola beaches.

Don’t forget to pack your camera, because the Fuengirola beaches are a magnificent view!
