December 4, 2013 By Andalucia Travel Guide

Jaen Province, historic towns and natural areas!

The province Jaen offers you the opportunity to visit historic towns and natural areas.

This province is best known for its olive trees which dominate the landscape and is renowned for its production of olives and olive oil.

The landscape is unspoilt and beautiful.

The cultural and landscape importance provides the visitor with several noteworthy routes throughout the province.

One of the most outstanding routes is through natural parks.

This province has the privilege of having the largest extent of protected areas in Andalucia as its parks of azorla, Segura and the Sierra de Andujer extend fine examples of Mediterranean woodland.

A second route, the Caliphate and Nazarite route passes through Jaen, Alcaudete, Marcos and Alcala la Real. This road joins Cordoba and Granada.

This province also boasts two of Andalucias most impressive and ancient monumental towns each on it fortified hill. These are Ubeda and Baeza.
