Nerja Beaches – a great coastline on the Costa del Sol!

December 4, 2013 By Andalucia Travel Guide

Check out the fabulous Nerja beaches! Nerja is blessed with a coastline that unlike the rest of the Costa Del Sol is not heavily built up.

Its family friendly beaches include La Burriana with picturesque surroundings, dark sand and a large number of services and El Playazo, a sandy beach with moderate waves and average occupation. This Nerja beach has ample parking and a large number of services.

The town of Nerja has a total of twelve beaches to suit all tastes. Indeed it is the municipality on the Costa Del Sol with the largest variety of beaches.

Together with La Burriana the beach at La Torrecilla are very popular offering the best services including showers, lifeguards and access for the disabled.

La Torrecilla and the beach at Calahonda boast beautiful ‘Paseo Maritimos’ or promenades along the beach front. They are quite busy during peak season with calm waters and dark sand.

La Playa Del Molino is an isolated beach in a natural setting with difficult access via the many paths down to the beach. It has a rocky shoreline, ideal for scuba diving. It has no services available thus accounting for its low occupation.

Las Alberquillas is surrounded by nature making it the only nudist beach in Nerja, given its isolated location. It is not very busy with few services on offer.

Given this great selection of beaches I am sure everyone will find something to suit their tastes. Whether you are on a family holiday in spain, a partying holiday or just a lazy sunbathing holiday you will find the perfect beach for you in Nerja!
